Observing Teachers

Overview

For school owners, coordinators, directors of study and mentors, the course will.  develop and broaden your knowledge of observation and feedback and ensure the effectiveness of observation in your context.

If you are in a role that requires you to observe teachers and give feedback, then this is the course for you!

Taking you through the whole observation cycle, the course will give you a practical and theoretical grounding in pre-lesson discussion, observation techniques and post-lesson feedback.

The course normally runs twice a year in January and July, but can run at other times if there is is sufficient demand.

Schedule & Workload

The course consists of five 3-hour sessions, covering the following

1. Observation and the Role of the Observer

2. Lesson Plans and Feedback

3. Developing and Using Observation Criteria

4. The Language of Feedback

5. Managing Feedback





Prerequisites

Language Level
You must be at a provable B2  level.

Technical Requirements
Each  participant must have:

- Computer with Camera and a microphone; 
- An internet connection of at least 10 Mbps;
- A Gmail account to access resources.

Minimum numbers
There needs to be at least 4 participants for the group to form. There is a maximum of 14 participants.

Resources

Delivery
Classes will be conducted via Zoom.

Google Classroom
Each class will have its own dedicated Google Classroom with a variety of assignments and resources.

Investment

The July 2021 version was 600.00 BRL

For Brazilian participants the can be paid in 2 instalments, with the first instalment paid before the course starts.

For participants joining after the start date, prices/instalments are adjusted proportionally.
